    Teaching and Learning

For the last three days, Kristin Trueblood, Betty Ann Fish and I (Erik) have been attending (and BA presenting) at the Building Learning Communities (BLC) conference in Boston. The conference is led by Alan November through his organization, November Learning. Below is their description of what BLC is all about:
Get ready to have your brain tickled with ideas from around the world. The 2008 Building Learning Communities Conference is designed to have an immediate and long range impact on improving teaching and learning. What first started as a ‘jam session’ of ideas between friends and education colleagues has grown into something truly special. Each year at BLC, we welcome representatives from around the world along with some of the most prestigious leaders in the field of education technology. Our conference program features hands-on pre-conference workshops, keynotes and over 90 main session workshops. Building Learning Communities is the conference for meeting leading-edge thinkers, international leaders in education and colleagues from around the world.
It was a great three days. Like those who attended NECC, we heard, and shared, many good ideas, some new, some old, but all worth remembering. Over the next few days, after we unpack and decompress, we will present those ideas here to you. All blogs or wikis regarding the conference will have BLC08 in the title.

Please comment - our collective intelligence is our greatest gift to our students.
